Hypostyle provided architectural services to Subsea7 for the design coordination of their new spoolbase facility at Leith Docks in Edinburgh. The project included modular production and office accommodation assembled on site. This 23,000sqm state of the art facility provides specialist fabrication and storage capabilities for the offshore oil and gas industry.

The facility accommodates a ‘firing line’ of fourteen production line stations for single-joint fabrication, a fully automated pipe handling system and storage capability of 80km of pipe. It is capable of producing pipelines up to 400mm diameter and 530m long for spooling onto reeled pipelay vessels.
