Hypostyle were appointed by Glasgow Life to coordinate refurbishment works throughout the Gorbals Leisure Centre in Glasgow. The leisure centre is widely appreciated as one of the most successful venues in the city, with a strong customer base for the local community and visitors to the area.

The completed works included:

  • the new Health Suite, comprising of a steam room, sauna and feature shower area, accessed from the poolside;

  • remodelling the leisure pool to remove integral ‘mini-pool’ structures;

  • refurbishment of the changing rooms, showers and toilets;

  • a new café with servery and kitchen;

  • subdivision of the main games hall to provide sports courts and new 530sqm fitness gym;

  • converting the existing first-floor Health Suite and changing facilities into two new fitness suites and a spin studio;

  • and a new reception desk, ticketing and automatic barriers.
