Hypostyle were appointed by the University of Edinburgh to lead refurbishment works to Forrest Hill. The works allowed the relocation of the School of Informatics from the Appleton Tower within the University of Edinburgh campus. Forrest Hill is a Category B listed building within the Edinburgh World Heritage site boundary and is connected to the boundary wall of Greyfriars Kirkyard Cemetery.

An empty modern office workspace with rows of desks and computers and colorful triangular fabric shades suspended from the ceiling.

Refurbishment works were carried out throughout all but two floors of the listed building to accommodate computer laboratories and specialist robotic laboratories for the School of Informatics (the second and fourth floor of Forrest Hill remained in use for the University of Edinburgh Communications Team). In addition to the works, a new lift was installed within the vertical circulation area to improve accessibility throughout the building.

Indoor staircase with gray steps, white railings with wooden handrails, and a turned newel post, with a white wall, radiator, and ceiling light fixtures.
